On August 29, the construction site of Guangxi's first 500 kV indoor GIS substation, the 500 kV Bailu Substation project, was bustling with activity. At the installation site of the 500 kV GIS equipment, construction personnel were fully equipped, constantly moving within the dust cover, and the installation of electrical equipment had already entered a peak period. "This is the company's first time carrying out 500 kV GIS installation construction, and we are continuously trying and exploring during the process," said project manager Su Yonglai. Unlike conventional substations, most of the electrical equipment in GIS substations is installed indoors. The entire indoor length of this station is 160 meters, while the equipment length reaches 130 meters, making the indoor construction area narrow. Each set of GIS equipment is transported as bulk parts, resulting in a significant assembly workload, especially since the installation accuracy requirements for the flange surface above the equipment are high, and there are many interfaces. Any slight deviation can lead to difficulties in docking. The Power Transmission and Transformation Company has made the Bailu Station a key project, with party branch members from the branch company going to the front line to guide the project in coordinating construction plans, implementing safety measures, and other tasks. At the end of July, the project team began assembly immediately after the first piece of equipment arrived, forming a task force to organize technicians and safety personnel to stay on-site, solve problems promptly, and strictly control installation errors within 3 millimeters to ensure precise installation. Currently, the overall construction of the Bailu Station has been completed by 90%, and the overall progress of the electrical part has reached 65%. Next, the project team will continue to promote the installation of branch busbars, vacuuming of gas chambers, and other work, striving to complete equipment installation by the end of September.

500 kV Bailu Substation.
At the construction site of the fourth 500 kV substation in Nanning—the 500 kV Xinjing Substation—construction workers were also working hard, sweating profusely, as electrical installation entered the final stages. The builders were fully committed to the acceptance work of equipment in various voltage level areas, laying a solid foundation for the next phase of trial operation. On the other hand, the supporting line of the station—the new 500 kV line project from Haigang to Yongzhou—has a length of 11.625 kilometers and is currently waiting for a power outage to carry out part of the renovation work. The construction of 27 new iron towers has been basically completed, which will further improve the structure of the Nanning power grid and provide strong power support.

500 kV Xinjing Substation.
In Zhongshan County, Hezhou, Guangxi, after days and nights of hard work, the 10 kV farm line and Beizhong III line were successfully put into operation. The project construction was taking place during the summer, with outdoor work being unbearably hot. All personnel from the Zhongshan project team of the Power Transmission and Transformation Company remained steadfast at their posts, working together with clear divisions of labor, maintaining safety standards, and strictly ensuring project quality, fully promoting project construction. The successful commissioning of these two lines further optimized the power grid structure in Zhongshan County and alleviated the increasing power supply pressure in the urban area and surrounding industrial parks, promoting local economic development.
As the vanguard and main force of emergency repairs for the power grid, in the face of recent typhoons and heavy rain affecting the operation of the power grid, the Power Transmission and Transformation Company actively took responsibility, taking practical actions to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

Inspecting equipment.
After four days and nights of hard work, the emergency replacement task for the broken tension clamp of the phase conductor on the small side of Tower No. 1 of the 220 kV Haitan I line was successfully completed half a day ahead of schedule. During the construction period, the Power Transmission and Transformation Company promptly dispatched technical backbone personnel from the Nanning area project team to form an emergency repair team to rush to the site. Based on the on-site survey and equipment parameters, a repair plan was quickly formulated. All construction personnel overcame various difficulties such as high temperatures, heat in coastal mountainous areas, and mosquito bites, effectively promoting the repair work in an orderly manner. Recently, the Power Transmission and Transformation Company successfully completed the emergency replacement tasks for the broken steel core tension clamps of the #33, #77, and #93 towers of the 500 kV Guangnan A line. At the repair site, the party branch and party members of the Nanning area project team fully played their "two roles". On one hand, they strictly handled the various procedures for starting construction according to the legal and compliant principles of engineering projects, and on the other hand, they promptly dispatched technical and skilled backbone personnel from the Nanning area project team to form an emergency repair team based on the on-site survey and equipment parameters, formulating a repair plan and leading all construction personnel to complete all repair work despite various difficulties such as high temperatures, eliminating hidden dangers for the operation of the transmission line.
Currently, the battle is still in full swing, with steady progress in various tasks and a stable overall situation in safety production. In the next phase, the Power Transmission and Transformation Company will continue to seize the "golden period" of construction, further strengthen safety management, scientifically coordinate the progress plan, and ensure that all key project construction tasks are completed on time.
