Guangxi Power Grid Company: Accelerate the construction of key power grid projects to promote the establishment of a new type of power system.
Recently, reporters learned from the Guangxi Power Grid Company of China Southern Power Grid that since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the company has invested over 56.5 billion yuan in power grid construction. A number of key power grid projects, such as the 500 kV Bailu Substation and the 500 kV Jinling Substation, have been put into operation on schedule. Under the "dual carbon" goals, the Guangxi Power Grid Company is continuously promoting power grid construction in line with the development trends of new energy. Based on strengthening the power grid, it is promoting the construction of a new power system and a new energy system through the synergy of digitalization and greening, thereby driving the creation of new productive forces in the energy and power sector.
Recently, reporters learned from the Guangxi Power Grid Company of the Southern Power Grid that since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the company has invested over 56.5 billion yuan in power grid construction. A large number of key projects such as the 500 kV Bailu Substation and the 500 kV Jinling Substation have been put into operation on schedule. Under the "dual carbon" goals, the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company is continuously promoting power grid construction in line with the development trend of new energy, strengthening the power grid while promoting the construction of a new power system and a new energy system through digital and green collaboration, and driving the formation of new productive forces in the energy and power sector.
108 main power grid projects are being vigorously promoted.
On October 2, in Baise, the construction site of the 500 kV Tianlin Substation of the Southern Power Grid Guangxi was still busy, with over 200 construction workers orderly advancing various processes such as connecting 500 kV equipment wires, installing 220 kV GIS equipment, conducting handover tests for 35 kV equipment, debugging 500 kV equipment protection, and leveling the civil engineering site.
This project is included in the key projects for power supply security in the Guangxi Energy Development 14th Five-Year Plan and is a key project of the Southern Power Grid Company. Once completed, it will greatly enhance the power supply capacity of the main power grid to Baise City, strongly supporting the implementation of multiple national strategic plans such as the Baise Key Development and Opening Experimental Zone and the revitalization plan for the old revolutionary area of the Left and Right Rivers.
"We are coordinating the current processes and simultaneously preparing regional acceptance plans to accelerate the project operation and ensure that the Tianlin Station is put into operation on schedule," said Liu Dong, project manager of the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Transmission and Transformation Construction Company. Currently, the overall progress of the Tianlin Station project has reached 85%.
In Guilin, the 500 kV Lijiang Substation project is also being vigorously promoted, with cranes, aerial vehicles, and transport vehicles shuttling back and forth, and over 200 construction workers sweating as they advance the installation of 500 kV overhead lines and busbars. "We are coordinating personnel, material reserves, and mechanical forces to work on multiple key links simultaneously, collaborating to tackle challenges, and striving to complete the milestone tasks on time," said Li Yongyue, deputy project manager.
The 500 kV Lijiang Substation is a key project for power supply security in the Guangxi Energy Development 14th Five-Year Plan and is also a key project of the Southern Power Grid Company for ice prevention and disaster resistance in 2024, with a total designed capacity of 3 million kVA. The station adopts new energy-saving wire application technology and other energy-saving low-carbon technologies to fully create a green power grid project. Once completed, it will further optimize the main grid structure of the northern Guangxi power grid, enhance power supply security and ice prevention and disaster resistance capabilities, and also provide strong electric power support for the construction of Guilin as a world-class tourist city.
Zhang Ning, general manager of the Infrastructure Department of the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company, introduced that after putting into operation three 500 kV substations and achieving full coverage of county-level areas in Guangxi with 220 kV substations in 2023, this year the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company will accelerate the promotion of 108 main power grid projects such as the 500 kV Tianlin Substation and the 500 kV Lijiang Substation.
From January to September this year, 57 main power grid projects at 110 kV and above, including the expansion projects of the 500 kV Jinling Substation, the 500 kV Fucheng Substation, and the 220 kV Luoluo Transmission and Transformation Project, have been successfully put into operation on schedule, significantly improving the power supply capacity, power quality, and intelligence level of the Guangxi power grid.
Continuously expanding the "main artery" for green electricity transmission.
Supporting new energy transmission projects is one of the key focuses of Guangxi's power grid construction this year.
According to reports, since the beginning of this year, Guangxi has completed and put into operation several new energy transmission projects, including the 220 kV outgoing line project of the 700 MW offshore wind power demonstration project A site in Fangchenggang City, the 110 kV Chuanxia Red Line of the Namo Wind Farm in Hengxian County, Nanning, and the 110 kV Wutao Line of the Daxin Longmen Wind Farm in Chongzuo, adding over 130 kilometers of new energy outgoing lines, significantly expanding and upgrading the green electricity energy transmission corridor.
While strengthening new energy transmission projects, the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company is also enhancing its ability to absorb new energy and its level by optimizing the power grid structure and improving the intelligence level of the power grid, promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of Guangxi's energy structure. Currently, the Guangxi power grid has formed a main grid structure of "four horizontal and two vertical" at 500 kV, achieving full coverage of district-level cities with 500 kV substations and county-level areas with 220 kV substations, significantly improving the power supply capacity and reliability across Guangxi.
In conjunction with the mid-term adjustments of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company is further strengthening the "power highway" for energy transmission, improving the north-south vertical corridor network in Guangxi, high-quality promoting the construction of a zero-carbon green electricity world-class tourist city in Guilin, efficiently ensuring the electricity demand for the development of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, and simultaneously starting the research work on the Guangxi 15th Five-Year Plan for the power grid, to support the high-quality development of Guangxi's economy and society with a stronger and more flexible power grid.
Accelerating the construction of a new power system.
The 14th Five-Year Plan is a critical period for the construction of a new power system, with the energy and power structure accelerating its transformation, new modes of electricity consumption continuously emerging, rapidly growing electricity consumption demand, and continuously improving power supply service standards, which pose higher requirements for the high-quality development of the power grid.
Liu Yanyang, general manager of the Strategic Planning Department of the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company, introduced that in response to the challenges posed by the large-scale integration of new energy into the grid, as well as the multi-energy complementarity, integrated source-grid-load-storage, and efficient interaction between supply and demand, the company is accelerating the construction of a safe, reliable, green, efficient, and intelligent modern power grid. Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, it has invested over 56.5 billion yuan to promote power grid planning and construction, comprehensively enhancing the resource allocation capacity, safety carrying capacity, and new energy absorption capacity of the Guangxi power grid, and promoting the construction of a new power system.
According to the recent "Implementation Plan for Building a Beautiful Guangxi" released by the Communist Party of China Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi will build a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient new energy system, focusing on controlling the consumption of fossil energy such as coal, strengthening the clean and efficient utilization of coal, actively and safely developing nuclear power, vigorously developing non-fossil energy such as wind, solar, and biomass energy, accelerating the construction of a new power system, and gradually expanding the application scenarios of green certificates.
"It is expected that by 2030, the total installed capacity of wind and solar power in Guangxi will exceed 10 million kilowatts; by 2035, the proportion of non-fossil energy in total energy consumption will further increase. Based on the development trend of new energy in Guangxi, we will carry out high-quality planning work for the Guangxi 15th Five-Year Plan for the power grid," said a relevant person in charge of the Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company, emphasizing that the company will continue to promote the construction of a new power system and a new energy system through digital and green collaboration, contributing to the construction of a beautiful Guangxi.
